Empowerment is not about exercising personal control over the external circumstances of your life. If you feel like you have to force a circumstance into submission, you’re not in your full power. It is out of insecurity that you try to force the material world around you to change or conform to your standards. It’s out of resistance and tension that you move into trying to control the environment around you. Move away from the tendency to want to control the conditions of your environment, and instead focus on the active and conscious management of your states of being.
Recognize all patterns in your waking experience for what they really are. Let go of what the pattern implies about you or your world, and recognize the pattern as a pattern only. The narrative, the content of your patterns create an impression that something real and true is happening, that there is a reality unfolding. You are either seeing the patterns of your waking reality or you are seeing the reality the patterns are implying. It’s a subtle observation you must make where beliefs are seen as beliefs instead of being the eyes through which you are looking at your world and self.
Events will never define you. Events can never define you. They are momentary fleeting apparitions. Be centered in yourself and recognize that the only power of definition in your reality, is you.
What you must bring yourself to know is that the source and resource for whatever you desire to experience or live in the world, is inside of you. Happiness, connection, love, fulfillment – these are all states of being you can unconditionally step into at anytime. Stop waiting for the environment, for the external world to tell you what to feel. Stop letting outdated definitions of self and world rule your expression. Be self defined in every way imaginable.
You must recognize that you are not your patterns. You have never been your patterns and you will never be your patterns. You are forever above and beyond all the patterns of waking experience. This recognition is available to you in any moment. You limit what you can experience when you hold to the notion that some experiences will make your true nature unavailable to you – when really, all experiences have to potential to heighten your awareness of who and what you really are. The true nature of your being cannot be truly hidden by any temporary patterns of your waking reality. Embrace the pervasive nature of the pure powerful consciousness that you are.
The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them. —Thomas Merton from Be Love by Kidest OM http://ift.tt/1geVrgM
The way to creating something different is to first notice what’s already different and build upon that awareness. If it feels right, it’s only because it’s familiar. Cultivate the consciousness of difference instead of habituating the illusion of sameness and familiarity. You will catch up to the changes you desire to experience much quicker.
